Smart Hands Technician at NOVOS FiBER

Novos Fiber is a prominent provider of fiber to the home internet services, and we are currently looking for a senior Smart Hands Technician to join our team in Coppell, Texas. In this full-time, on-site role, you will be instrumental in maintaining our all-optical network infrastructure by providing expert technical support for our central office and field operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network hardware at data centers and field locations.
• Manage the configuration and upkeep of central office equipment, with a specific focus on Nokia technologies, routers, switches, and optical line terminals.
• Diagnose hardware and connectivity issues, escalating complex problems to internal engineering teams when necessary.
• Maintain precise documentation regarding equipment changes, service interruptions, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with network engineers and NOC personnel to ensure operational efficiency and minimal downtime.
• Oversee inventory management to ensure necessary supplies are available for ongoing projects.
• Conduct quality assurance testing to verify that all equipment meets our performance standards.
• Maintain organized cable management systems to ensure safety and compliance.
• Provide on-call support to address critical network issues and ensure service continuity.

Must-haves

• Extensive experience with Nokia equipment and related technologies.
• Strong background in networking, including familiarity with FTTH, routers, switches, and optical networks.
• Proven experience in a technician role within the telecommunications or ISP industry.
• Solid understanding of central office operations and equipment installation.
• Exceptional troubleshooting abilities and the capacity to work independently.
• Strong communication skills in English for effective team and customer interaction.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
