The role

We are looking for experienced professionals to join us as a SkillBridge Intern. This is a remote internship opportunity designed for active-duty U.S. military personnel participating in the Department of Defense SkillBridge program. This role is intended for those in their final six months of service who are seeking high-level training and professional development within our organization. While this position is remote, we also maintain physical offices in Seattle and Herndon for those who may be local to those areas.

Core responsibilities

• Contribute to our mission by applying your expertise in security, analytics, and monitoring to support our space-based intelligence operations.
• Collaborate with our teams on specialized projects in areas such as talent acquisition, marketing, or partnership building.
• Engage in professional development and hands-on training to facilitate a smooth transition into the civilian workforce while contributing to our strategic objectives.

Skills and experience

To be eligible for this program, you must be an active-duty service member within 180 days of separation or retirement. You must have served at least 180 days on active duty and be on track to receive an honorable discharge. Candidates are required to have completed their service TAPS or TGPS requirements and participated in an ethics brief within the last year. Because our work involves sensitive space technology, you must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident, or otherwise eligible to obtain the necessary authorizations under U.S. export regulations.

Compensation and benefits

As a SkillBridge participant, you continue to receive your standard military pay and benefits from the Department of Defense. While you are not eligible for additional compensation from BlackSky during this training period, we are pleased to offer our interns a comprehensive suite of benefits for their future consideration, including:
