Site Reliability Engineer at Chowbus

Chowbus is a Chicago-based SaaS company that empowers the restaurant industry through our comprehensive point-of-sale ecosystem. We serve over 2,000 restaurant partners across 20 major cities in the United States, and we are looking for a motivated Site Reliability Engineer to help us scale our infrastructure and drive our IT strategy forward.

Responsibilities

• Optimize and maintain our cloud-based infrastructure to ensure high availability and consistent performance.
• Implement SRE best practices by focusing on automation, monitoring, and proactive incident response.
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration tasks.
• Partner with our development teams to integrate new software solutions seamlessly.
• Develop automated IT management processes and explore AI integration to streamline routine operations.

Must-haves

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Two to three years of professional experience in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin, as you will be communicating with our global teams.
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages like Python or Bash.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana.

Nice-to-haves

• Practical experience with AWS ECS and container orchestration.
• A strong interest in pursuing IT leadership and management responsibilities.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and regulatory compliance.
• Experience working within Agile and DevOps frameworks.
