Supabase is an open source, fully remote organization dedicated to building powerful developer tools for databases. We provide a platform that adds authentication, real-time capabilities, and RESTful APIs to Postgres, allowing our customers to scale from weekend projects to billions of requests. We are currently managing over one million Postgres instances and are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team and help us continue this rapid growth.
Key outcomes
- Contribute to the development and evolution of our core Postgres offering.
- Enhance the reliability of our database recovery and backup systems.
- Implement robust high availability solutions to ensure minimal downtime during failovers.
- Operationalize database management for our users by introducing maintenance windows and blue-green deployment strategies for upgrades.
- Improve database observability to empower users to debug their own environments effectively.
- Optimize the performance of provisioned Postgres databases and provide intuitive controls for users to tune their own performance settings.
- Refine our system architecture to maintain a balance between high performance, security, and cost efficiency.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines that facilitate faster deployments through effective release management.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in SRE, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience building applications using Golang.
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale deployments on AWS.
- Strong understanding of networking principles and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Experience designing multi-tenant database solutions with a focus on fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and failover.
- Familiarity with the Postgres ecosystem, including tools such as Patroni, pgbackrest, or barman.
- Fluency in English for all professional communication.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience orchestrating stateful workloads at scale.
- Practical knowledge of Postgres operators, such as those provided by Zalando or Crunchy.
