We are looking for a dedicated Senior ShotGrid Flow Pipeline Technical Director to join our Studio Pipeline team. Our studio is a creative powerhouse that thrives on innovation, and we need someone who can bridge the gap between complex technical systems and the artists who bring our stories to life. You will play a vital role in designing and deploying custom software that enhances our production tracking, working directly with departments ranging from VFX and Story to Puppet Fabrication and Media Services. If you are passionate about building tools that solve real-world production challenges, we would love to have you on our team.
About the Role
This is a full-time position for a senior-level professional. As a Pipeline TD, you will focus on extending our use of Autodesk ShotGrid/Flow. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our pipeline tools, ensuring that our technical infrastructure keeps pace with the ambitious needs of our production departments. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with a diverse group of engineers, managers, and creative artists.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain custom software tools that integrate with ShotGrid/Flow to support both browser-hosted and desktop-native workflows.
- Collaborate with non-technical end users to identify production bottlenecks and translate those needs into efficient, user-friendly technical solutions.
- Manage the end-to-end development process, including writing test plans, rolling out new features, and providing documentation and training to support our production staff.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional experience building custom tools and workflows within an animation or VFX studio using ShotGrid/Flow.
- Strong proficiency in Python, PyQt/PySide2, and JavaScript.
- Deep understanding of ShotGrid/Flow’s Python and REST APIs, along with experience in automation strategies.
- Experience with web development frameworks such as Django, Flask, React, or Node.js.
- Familiarity with SCM tools like Git and GitLab, as well as relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban is highly valued.
- Experience with CI/CD tools or cloud services like AWS Lambda or Azure is considered a plus.
Location
This role is based in Hillsboro, OR, and offers hybrid work flexibility.
Compensation and Benefits
We are committed to supporting our team members through a flexible work environment. We offer hybrid work options to help you balance your professional and personal life effectively.
