Senior Web3 Engineer at Ethena

At Ethena Labs, we are creating a synthetic dollar that operates independently of traditional banking infrastructure, and we are looking for a talented individual to join our core team. We are backed by major industry players and feature a team with deep roots in both traditional finance and crypto engineering, including experience from firms like Aave, Wintermute, and Paradigm.

What you bring

As a Senior Web3 Engineer, you will join our full-time, remote team to help drive our product from its early stages to market maturity. We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to take on significant ownership within our small, high-performing engineering group. This role is open to candidates located anywhere, though we prefer those available within the EST, GMT, CET, or EEST time zones. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining our React-based Web3 application, which allows users to mint and stake USDe, alongside managing our Python-based backend infrastructure.
• Collaborating directly with exchange and custody providers to monitor the solvency and equity positions of our internal accounts.
• Partnering with our smart contract engineers to refine technical architecture while mentoring team members to elevate our collective output.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a curious engineer with a passion for DeFi and at least two years of experience building front-ends for decentralized applications. You should possess a strong design sense and the ability to execute high-quality work even when designs are not fully finalized. We require fluent English skills and a deep understanding of the intersection between financial concepts and frontier technology. Your technical toolkit must include:

• Advanced proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Python.
• Hands-on experience with NextJS, TailwindCSS, and GraphQL.
• Expertise in Web3 tools and libraries such as Viem, Wagmi, and The Graph.
• A solid grasp of performance-critical concepts like edge functions, RPC providers, and caching strategies.
