Senior Web3 Engineer Backend at Ethena

What you bring

We are seeking a Mid-Level Senior Web3 Backend Engineer to join our 16-person team on a full-time, remote basis. You will play a pivotal role in our mission, working from anywhere within the EST, GMT, CET, or EEST time zones. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining our core Web3 application for minting and staking USDe, alongside our Python-based backend infrastructure that manages custody positions and order routing.
• Partnering with exchange and custody providers to monitor the solvency and equity positions of our internal accounts.
• Collaborating closely with our smart contract engineers to mentor team members and refine our overall architectural approach.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a curious engineer with at least two years of experience building decentralized applications. You should possess a deep understanding of modern software development practices, including the ability to write clean, modular, and testable code. We value candidates who have a strong grasp of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and algorithmic complexity. Proficiency in Python and GraphQL is essential, as is experience with our core stack, which includes React, NextJS, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS. You should also be comfortable with Web3-specific tools such as Viem, Wagmi, and The Graph, and have a solid understanding of caching, RPC providers, and edge functions. Fluency in English is required for this role.
