The role

We are looking for a Senior Virtualization Systems Engineer to join us on a full-time, on-site basis. This is a senior-level position for an expert who is ready to take ownership of complex infrastructure challenges. You will be the primary technical lead for designing and deploying VMware environments, serving as a trusted advisor to the government by evaluating new technologies and ensuring our systems meet the rigorous demands of the enterprise.

Core responsibilities

• Design, install, and manage a robust and highly available virtual infrastructure that supports the specific needs of the Army Enterprise.
• Lead the planning, configuration, and upgrading of vCenter Server and VMware ESXi, while optimizing vSphere networking and storage solutions.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including implementation guides and ETPs, to ensure all technical solutions align with government operational standards and security policies.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess deep technical expertise in the following areas:

• Extensive experience with VMware technologies, specifically in server deployment and virtualization management.
• Strong background in infrastructure design, including the complexities of virtual networking and storage.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot server issues and conduct research on new technologies to address future enterprise requirements.
• Proficiency in English to effectively draft, coordinate, and finalize technical documentation and communicate with government stakeholders.
• A solid understanding of DoD and DA policies to ensure all integration efforts remain compliant and secure.
