Senior Typescript Full-stack Engineer at Farther

Farther is a rapidly expanding wealth management firm that blends expert financial advice with sophisticated technology to provide a personalized experience for our clients. Backed by top-tier venture capital, we are looking for a Senior Typescript Full-stack Engineer to join our remote team and help us continue scaling our platform, which has already reached over $3 billion in assets under management.

Responsibilities

• Own the full-stack development lifecycle, from user interface design to data layer implementation, including CRUD APIs and AWS infrastructure.
• Write high-quality, strictly-typed code using TypeScript, applying functional programming and domain-driven design principles.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to translate wireframes into intuitive, performant components and features.
• Draft detailed specification documents and functional requirements to ensure efficient, autonomous development cycles.
• Develop robust backends, including domain modeling, data layer design, and asynchronous messaging workflows.
• Maintain high product quality by writing automated tests and building reusable internal libraries.
• Balance your time with approximately 70% focus on frontend development and 30% on backend tasks.

Must-haves

• At least 7 years of experience building production-grade, full-stack applications using TypeScript.
• Deep expertise in React, including hooks and functional components.
• Strong proficiency in functional programming and a desire to make invalid states impossible through strict typing.
• Experience designing flexible, composable architectures that span from UI components to multi-service asynchronous systems.
• A bias for action and a startup mindset, with the ability to ship features frequently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication skills, as we operate with an asynchronous-first culture that relies on documentation like RFCs and PRDs.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where you are comfortable embracing change and proactively solving problems.
