Senior System Administrator at Atekinc

We are A-TEK, Inc., a team of experts dedicated to managing the critical data that drives federal missions. For over 26 years, we have partnered with major government agencies like the National Institutes of Health, the FDA, and the Department of Homeland Security to deliver specialized IT services and scientific solutions. We are currently looking for a Senior System Administrator to join our team and help maintain the stability and security of our macOS environments. This is a hybrid role that requires you to be on-site in Bethesda, MD, for two to three days each week.

What you'll be doing

• You will develop custom automation tools using Puppet, Bash, and Apple Script to streamline our infrastructure support and services.
• You will manage the full lifecycle of macOS systems, including installations, patch management, and the configuration of mobile devices through Mobile Device Management software.
• You will provide direct technical support to our internal developers and researchers, ensuring our Mac computers are seamlessly integrated with Linux and Windows servers, network storage, and various web environments.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in macOS administration and a commitment to high-quality service. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• At least 4 years of experience troubleshooting Apple environments, specifically using JAMF/Casper Suite.
• A high school diploma or GED supported by significant technical training or industry certifications.
• Proficiency in Mac program and printer installation, network and email client configuration, and system upgrades.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office products and familiarity with Adobe software.
• Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, paired with the ability to communicate effectively with team members.
• Fluency in English.
• Bonus points if you have experience with IBM BigFix, Unix command line tools, ARD, Xcode, or enterprise integrations like Active Directory.
