At Quilter, we are dedicated to helping electrical engineers reclaim their time by automating the complex process of designing printed circuit boards. Our team brings together experts in machine learning, electromagnetic simulation, and high-performance computing to solve a massive, decades-old challenge in the electronics industry. Having successfully secured $25 million in Series B funding, we are growing rapidly and looking for passionate individuals who value grit, excellence, and building tools that truly help people.
What is this role?
We are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position based in the United States. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical roadmap and building the foundation for the next generation of automated PCB design, working alongside a talented group of engineers to tackle difficult problems in computational geometry and physics simulation.
What will you do?
- Architect and implement high-performance C++ libraries, algorithms, and systems designed for routing, optimization, and simulation.
- Design scalable data structures and computational methods to address the most complex challenges in PCB design.
- Provide technical leadership through mentorship, code reviews, and guidance to help elevate the engineering practices across our teams.
What makes you a great fit?
You should have 3 to 10+ years of industry experience maintaining and extending large, high-performance C++ codebases. We value candidates who possess a strong academic foundation and deep expertise in areas such as computational geometry, graph algorithms, numerical methods, or high-performance computing. You must be proficient in Python for prototyping and integration, and you should have the ability to translate complex mathematical theory into robust production systems. Excellent communication skills in English are essential, as you will be collaborating closely with domain experts across various disciplines.
What's in it for you?
We offer a supportive environment where you can tackle genuinely interesting technical challenges. Our benefits package includes:
- Equity compensation.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Unlimited vacation policy.
- Maternity and paternity leave.
- Regular company retreats and team events.
- The flexibility of working remotely.
