Senior Staff Software Engineer - Accessibility at AudioEye

We are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join our team as a technical lead, where you will drive our accessibility initiatives and help us change the way the world experiences the web.

Responsibilities

• Lead the identification and resolution of complex accessibility and usability issues while applying WCAG and Section 508 standards.
• Design and develop scalable web solutions that balance immediate project needs with long-term technical requirements.
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical analysis and support for internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Influence cross-functional teams to integrate accessibility best practices directly into the design and development lifecycle.
• Establish metrics to measure project success and ensure our products meet high inclusivity standards.
• Mentor team members and document accessibility processes to foster a culture of continuous learning.
• Stay at the forefront of emerging accessibility technologies and industry trends.

Must-haves

• At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience, with a primary focus on accessibility and inclusivity.
• Deep expertise in WCAG and Section 508 standards.
• Strong proficiency in NodeJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, DOM, and CSS.
• Experience working with React or similar MVVM frameworks.
• Solid background in API design, service-oriented architecture, and data modeling.
• Operational experience supporting large-scale SaaS products and CI/CD pipelines.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to serve as a technical expert in client-facing scenarios.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional certifications such as CPACC or WAS.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and open-source technologies.

The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $165,000 USD.
