Senior Staff Principal Engineer - Driver i App (Android iOS Native) at Netradyne

The role

We are seeking a Senior Staff or Principal Engineer to lead our Driver i mobile application team. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Bangalore, India. As a lead-level contributor, you will be responsible for the end-to-end technical and architectural direction of our native Android and iOS experiences. Depending on your experience, you will either operate as a Senior Staff Engineer focusing on multi-team initiatives and technical patterns, or as a Principal Engineer defining our organization-wide client strategy and long-term platform evolution.

Core responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical owner for the Driver i native app ecosystem, including the evolution of our architecture, modularization, and feature boundaries.
• Lead cross-team initiatives that bridge the gap between our mobile applications and critical backend domains like ingestion, driver assignment, and compliance.
• Drive engineering excellence by mentoring team members, establishing high standards for code quality, and implementing robust observability and performance tuning for our mobile platforms.

Skills and experience

• Extensive experience in software engineering, with at least 9 to 13 years for Senior Staff roles or 13+ years for Principal level, including a strong background in system design and data structures.
• Deep native expertise in Android (Kotlin/Java, Jetpack, Coroutines) and/or iOS (Swift, UIKit/SwiftUI, Combine).
• Proven ability to integrate mobile applications with distributed systems, including experience with offline-first behavior, API versioning, and secure data handling.
• Demonstrated leadership in driving technical direction, influencing cross-functional teams, and fostering a culture of mentorship and high-quality craftsmanship.
• Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to align product, design, and engineering stakeholders.
