At Linear, we are building the product development system that teams and agents rely on as AI transforms how software is created. Since 2019, more than 25,000 companies-including OpenAI, Coinbase, and Ramp-have chosen our platform to plan, build, and ship their work. Our distributed team spans North America and Europe, and we continue to expand while staying focused on fast execution and thoughtful software craftsmanship.
What you'll be doing
- Design and ship end-to-end user-facing features, from new database models and GraphQL resolvers to polished UI components.
- Strengthen our data synchronization layer by refining serialization protocols and adding real-time collaborative editing to the content editor.
- Profile and tune performance across virtualized lists, add analytics and monitoring, and help open-source meaningful technical work that emerges from product development.
What you'll bring
You bring at least five years of experience building customer-facing products at a high-quality software company, along with strong React and TypeScript fundamentals. You have worked across the full stack-browser technologies, Node, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL-and you have a track record of driving complex features from idea through launch with clear product impact.
You care about user experience, speed, and polish, and you are comfortable shaping problems rather than simply implementing solutions. You thrive in a remote, async-first environment, take full ownership of your work, and have experience at a startup or another organization with a high engineering bar. English proficiency is required, and the role is open to candidates located in North America or Europe.
Our stack includes React, MobX, and styled-components on the frontend; Node, PostgreSQL, Temporal, and Redis on the backend; a proprietary WebSocket data-sync framework; an extensive GraphQL API; and Kubernetes on Google Cloud. You do not need prior experience with every tool, but you should be excited to work close to product, performance, and real-world scale.
What you'll get
- Equity compensation with employee-friendly terms, including early exercise in the US and extended exercise windows.
- Remote-first work with no required commute, plus a paid co-working space or desk budget.
- Daily meal and coffee stipend on every workday.
- Health coverage based on local country requirements.
- Five weeks of paid vacation plus local statutory holidays, and an additional paid month off after four years and every two years thereafter.
- Four months of paid parental leave.
- Regular team events and off-sites.
- Wellness programs.
