What you bring

We are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to join our team in a full-time, on-site capacity. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for our Prism plant breeding software, ensuring our systems are configured and supported to meet the needs of our growing organization. You will work closely with our breeding and research groups to bridge the gap between complex science and technical implementation.

• Provide first-line support for the Prism platform by triaging and resolving technical issues.
• Collaborate with scientists and researchers to identify system gaps and define future engineering requirements.
• Manage database operations and system integrations within our AWS environment, utilizing Python, SQL, and GraphQL.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with at least five years of software development experience and a strong background in AWS services like RDS, EC2, Lambda, and EKS. You should hold a degree in a science-related field or possess equivalent professional experience. We are looking for someone who communicates clearly with both technical staff and field operators, maintains excellent organizational habits, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in T-SQL and SQL Management Studio is essential, as is a collaborative mindset that welcomes diverse perspectives. A genuine passion for CI/CD, containerization, and learning new domains will help you succeed as you contribute to our broader engineering roadmap.
