What you bring

We are looking for a Senior Staff Data Engineer and Data Architect to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. You will serve as a lead, guiding our technical strategy and helping us evolve our data engineering capabilities to support our growing list of partners. This role is based anywhere, allowing you to contribute to our vision from your preferred location while utilizing your expertise in Engineering, Data Architecture, and Cloud Infrastructure.

• Provide technical leadership by charting our execution approach and guiding key technology choices to support our long-term vision.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing data engineering team while collaborating across product and delivery departments to meet customer needs.
• Design and document robust data models and architecture principles, ensuring our platform remains scalable, stable, and effective for complex biomedical data.

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings over 10 years of experience in data engineering or architecture, specifically managing complex pipelines within SaaS and cloud environments. You should be highly proficient in the modern data stack, including Snowflake, DBT, and Airflow. We value candidates who possess strong domain knowledge in healthcare, clinical research, genomics, or bioinformatics. You must be comfortable presenting architectural designs to stakeholders, prototyping solutions, and translating business requirements into clear technical plans. Excellent communication skills in English are essential, as you will be interacting directly with customers to provide technical expertise and gather feedback. We are looking for a leader who thrives in fast-paced, venture-funded environments and enjoys building foundational data layers that drive scientific discovery.
