We are looking for a Lead Senior SRE DevOps Engineer to join our team in Canada. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead our strategic cloud re-architecture initiative, focusing on modernizing our systems to ensure peak performance and unwavering availability. You will be instrumental in transforming our infrastructure by championing microservices, driving automation, and designing resilient, multi-regional solutions capable of handling massive scale. Beyond your technical contributions, you will serve as a mentor and influencer, guiding our teams on DevOps best practices and shaping our long-term technical roadmap to ensure our platform remains secure, compliant, and future-proof.
Key outcomes
- Identify and address knowledge gaps within our engineering teams by evaluating current infrastructure and providing expert mentorship.
- Architect and implement robust multi-regional traffic management, disaster recovery strategies, and highly scalable database solutions.
- Lead the transition toward microservices and automation, ensuring our systems are prepared to handle extreme traffic spikes without requiring major overhauls.
- Establish and enforce high standards for CI/CD pipelines, system observability, and incident response to boost overall engineering velocity.
- Provide strategic guidance to development teams regarding cloud-native development, GCP services, and multi-cloud operations.
- Drive innovation by proposing and implementing advanced solutions, such as serverless computing and hybrid data models, to maintain our platform's competitive edge.
- Integrate comprehensive security and compliance practices, including IAM, network policies, and data protection, across all environments.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior or lead role managing large-scale initiatives.
- Proven hands-on expertise with AWS and GCP, specifically regarding multi-regional architectures and managed services like GKE, Spanner, and Pub/Sub.
- Deep technical proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster management and scaling strategies.
- Strong command of automation and Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform and CloudFormation, alongside experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of networking and security fundamentals, such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, IAM, and secret management.
- Demonstrated ability to design and scale distributed systems, including expertise in caching and database scaling.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for automation, with comfortable knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
