Senior Software Test Engineer at Talent Neuron

We are currently seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer to join our team in India on a full-time, hybrid basis. Key outcomes

• Design, review, and execute functional testing scenarios based on specifications from our product, data science, and middleware teams.
• Develop and execute functional API tests using Python or Java, or through specialized API testing frameworks.
• Execute system and integration testing across our UI, middleware, and ETL components.
• Conduct performance testing for APIs using JMeter.
• Manage the defect lifecycle by documenting issues and tracking them through to resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis on production issues to prevent recurrence during earlier testing phases.
• Collaborate with the product team throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering to User Acceptance Testing.
• Contribute to grooming and planning sessions by providing technical insights and effort estimations.
• Build and maintain automation testing frameworks in Python or Java to support data engineering and validation.
• Provide mentorship to new team members and interns while coordinating delivery timelines across cross-functional groups.

Requirements

• Five to eight years of professional experience in software testing, with at least three years specifically focused on automation testing.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle and various testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, specifically Java or Python.
• Strong capability in writing SQL queries, including DDL, DML, CRUD operations, joins, and stored procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong logical reasoning skills for designing effective test scenarios.
• A proactive mindset and a willingness to learn new technologies as our projects evolve.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working with AWS cloud environments.
• Familiarity with PySpark.
• Experience using unit testing frameworks such as JUnit or Pytest.
• Relevant programming language certifications.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and experience with Artificial Intelligence or Generative AI tools and frameworks.
• Familiarity with project management and documentation tools like JIRA and Confluence, as well as an understanding of Agile methodologies.
