The role
We are seeking a Senior Software Integration Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. This is a mid-level position for an engineer who is ready to take ownership of our Validation and Verification efforts. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our autonomous driving stack by leading hands-on testing programs and collaborating closely with our engineering and operations departments.
Core responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of autonomous vehicle system testing on closed courses to ensure our software meets all performance standards.
- Develop comprehensive validation and verification plans, including detailed test matrices, to verify our autonomy software against product requirements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex software errors by analyzing log data and working directly with Linux, ROS, sensors, and actuators.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in robotics or autonomous systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving. We require the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Robotics.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in creating and executing test plans for integrated software and hardware systems.
- Proficiency in Linux, ROS, C++, and Python, with the ability to debug system behaviors and identify failures related to hardware sensors.
- Strong programming skills for automated testing, data processing, and scripting.
- A willingness to travel to various test sites, including locations near San Antonio, Texas.
- Prior experience in the autonomous vehicle, automotive, or robotics sectors is highly valued.
Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $175,000 per year, with final compensation determined by your specific qualifications, location, and experience.
