Magna is building software infrastructure for the largest and most innovative networks/protocols in the web3 space and is relied upon by top VC funds. Our flagship product is “Carta for Web3”, a platform to automate managing and distributing digital assets (tokens) according to custom logic to incentivize investors and network participants. This year alone, we’ve grown our platform to over 2 billion dollars (USD) worth of digital assets managed, scaled our app to hundreds of thousands of users, and captured meaningful recurring revenue along the way.

We’re a team of ~15 in NYC & Europe backed by Y-Combinator, Tiger Global, and the biggest names in the space (Tusk Ventures, Circle, Galaxy Digital, Solana Ventures, Polygon Ventures, GSR, Tower Research, and many more). Our engineering team comes from top finance and distributed systems companies like Gemini, Morgan Stanley, and Palantir. We’ve built exchange matching engines at scale, published AI papers at top journals, and exited startups to Fortune 500 companies prior to Magna.

Our stack is primarily TypeScript (frontend + backend monorepo) and Rust (protocol + systems engineering). We care a lot about code quality and are active contributors to open source [1] [2] [3].

What will you be building?

We’re looking to expand our multi-chain token distribution protocol (Airlock) to support additional architectures, features, and expand into other on-chain primitives (e.g. NFTs, staking, governance). We regularly collaborate with top-tier auditors (Trail of Bits, Zellic, OtterSec, Guardian) and maintain billions of dollars in transaction volume across multiple chains. As an ambitious team, we build for multiple execution runtimes (EVM, SVM, MoveVM, CosmWasm) to deliver a cohesive product experience for our end users.

We’re looking to build out some cool projects:

1. Performance: Optimizing our transaction payloads for minimal fees and fewer signings.
2. Features: Implementing features for customers managing financial operations at scale (e.g. managing 200K+ asset distributions through the self-serve product).
3. Security: Collaborating with our auditors on retainer and fleshing out our test suite (we’re building a cross-chain test suite written in Rust).

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in fast paced teams (that experienced growth of product usage & team size) and 2 years of smart contract development
• A love for clean and performant code (always sweating the details)
• Experience driving large technical initiatives with timelines and multiple developers
• Voracious learner and low ego (always learning and leveling up)
• Knowledge on existing protocol implementations and hacks
• Nice to have: experience in Rust or a similar systems language
