The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Chennai, India. You will play a vital role in our engineering organization, working US-based hours to help us maintain our high-performance infrastructure. This is a full-time, on-site position where you will provide technical leadership, mentor other engineers, and ensure our systems remain secure, scalable, and efficient. You will be at the heart of our mission, collaborating across teams to solve complex problems and deliver seamless payment experiences to our global clients.

A day in the life

• You will integrate new features from major networks like Mastercard and VISA, such as carbon calculators and donation tools, directly into our payment ecosystem.
• You will build and implement sophisticated spending controls designed to stop fraud and prevent overspending before it happens.
• You will lead the migration of active card programs from legacy processors to our modern system, ensuring a smooth transition for cardholders with zero downtime.

Who you are

You are a seasoned developer with a deep understanding of Java Enterprise software and a passion for building robust financial technology. You communicate effectively in English and thrive in collaborative environments.

• You have at least 10 years of experience as a developer, with 7 or more years specifically in Java Enterprise environments.
• You possess mastery over Java and JVM performance tuning, including experience with Lambdas, Generics, and complex data structures.
• You are highly skilled in concurrent programming, using tools like the Actor Model and CompletableFuture to manage high-volume traffic.
• You have extensive experience with the Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful web services.
• You are comfortable working with various database technologies, including MySQL, Oracle, and NoSQL solutions like Cassandra.
• You have a strong grasp of design patterns, algorithms, and Groovy scripting.
