Senior Software Engineer at Sunrise

At Sunrise, we are on a mission to make top-tier healthcare accessible to everyone. We are starting by tackling chronic conditions that affect the majority of Americans. Our platform allows patients to manage their holistic care, consult with multi-specialty providers, track medications, and connect with a supportive community. We are currently operating in stealth mode, but we have already achieved rapid growth with significant ARR within six months of launch and 42 million dollars in seed funding.

Role at a glance

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid role that offers the flexibility to work from anywhere. You will be a founding member of our engineering team, helping us scale our product to reach millions of customers.

Your impact

• Design, develop, and rapidly iterate on our core product and web application stack using NestJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Partner directly with our Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure our technical solutions solve real-world problems while keeping an eye on long-term scalability.
• Collaborate with the team to build, maintain, and evolve our software across the entire stack, balancing the need for speed with a commitment to high-quality user experiences.

What you'll need

• At least 5 years of full-stack experience building modern web applications.
• Proven experience building Node.js applications at scale or within a startup environment.
• A solid foundation in software engineering principles, demonstrated either through a degree or a track record of delivering reliable solutions.
• Strong communication skills in English, as we rely heavily on asynchronous collaboration.
• The ability to make quick, confident decisions even when faced with ambiguity.
• Bonus points if you have experience in cloud-based infrastructure like AWS, GCP, or Azure, or if you have previously worked in the healthcare industry.
