Senior Software Engineer at Anzen

We are Anzen, an insurtech startup founded by industry veterans who have successfully scaled three unicorns. With backing from top-tier investors like Andreessen Horowitz and Madrona, we are on a mission to revolutionize the management insurance market. We are currently developing a unique insurance product that leverages advanced machine learning and natural language processing to help companies better understand and mitigate their liability risks. As we expand our footprint into Mexico, we are looking for talented engineers to join our team, which includes alumni from institutions like MIT, Cambridge, and McGill, as well as professionals who have helped scale organizations at companies like Google and Oracle. You will play a vital role in building the core technology that enables us to manage hundreds of millions of dollars in policies while empowering underwriters to be significantly more efficient.

What you'll be doing

• You will collaborate with our product, design, and principal engineering teams to transform our vision into reality, creating a seamless customer experience while managing project milestones.
• You will be responsible for architecting and implementing the foundational components of our insurance infrastructure.
• You will help us grow our team by identifying great talent and actively shaping the engineering culture here at Anzen.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong academic foundation, such as a degree in computer engineering or a related field. We are looking for someone who has at least two years of experience building complex systems within a team environment. You should be comfortable working with our technology stack, which includes TypeScript, React, Postgres, Redis, and AWS. We value candidates who are eager to tackle new challenges and offer fresh insights on our current implementations. It is a major plus if you have experience building software for high-stakes environments like financial systems, or if you have a genuine interest in working with Machine Learning and NLP models. Proficiency in English is required for this role.
