Senior Software Engineer at Gopuff

We are looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team at Gopuff. Our company is redefining convenience by delivering everyday essentials to customers in minutes, and we need your expertise to help us build the infrastructure and systems that make this possible.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire lifecycle of our applications, from initial design and development to deployment and ongoing operations.
• Provide system design consulting and capacity planning to support new applications before they launch.
• Monitor system health, latency, and availability to ensure our services remain reliable after they go live.
• Develop custom libraries and tools that integrate seamlessly with platforms like Azure, Grafana, Prometheus, and PagerDuty.
• Improve system scalability and velocity by implementing automation and reliability-focused changes.
• Enhance the quality of our engineering organization of over 200 people by building robust build pipelines and observability solutions.

Must-haves

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus over 6 years of production experience.
• Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, C/C++, or JavaScript.
• Proven experience automating infrastructure in public cloud environments, with a preference for Terraform.
• Deep knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of UNIX, TCP/IP, and HTTP fundamentals.
• Experience designing secure, highly available systems that utilize horizontal scaling and load balancing.
• Solid grasp of databases, including SQL and MongoDB.
• A strong mindset for implementing CI/CD pipelines at scale, ideally within a GitOps model.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a multifaceted environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Production experience with Azure or GCP.
• Background in working with microservices or distributed systems.
• Experience with asynchronous, message-based processing.
