Senior Software Engineer at Jetpack

At Jetpack, we are rethinking the way developers build scalable web backends for the cloud. Our mission is to make programming a full computer cluster as simple as working on a local laptop. We are building a platform that automatically handles the most complex challenges in distributed computing, allowing our customers to create fault-tolerant and infinitely scalable systems with minimal code. We are currently searching for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. As an early-stage startup, we value individuals who want to help shape our future and turn these ambitious goals into reality.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a foundational member of our team by setting product direction and taking full ownership of significant design and implementation projects.
• Develop advanced cloud native infrastructure that operates effectively on top of public cloud providers.
• Solve difficult technical hurdles for our users, such as automating system resilience and enabling seamless, configuration-free auto-scaling.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent amount of professional experience.
• At least 4 years of experience working on large-scale systems.
• A solid grasp of Computer Science fundamentals, specifically regarding algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and concurrency.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining microservices and service-oriented architectures that prioritize scalability and fault tolerance.
• Practical knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
• Technical expertise with major public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• A full-cycle development mindset, demonstrating the ability to build and operate distributed systems throughout the entire software lifecycle.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a small, 100% remote startup environment.
