Role at a glance
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Payables group on a full-time basis. This is a remote position open to candidates based in Canada. You will play a pivotal role in our backend development efforts, ensuring our payroll engine remains robust, accurate, and scalable.
Your impact
- Lead the technical decomposition of complex, ambiguous projects into clear and actionable tasks.
- Take full ownership of feature delivery, moving projects from initial concept all the way through to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to design and implement elegant solutions that solve real-world problems for our customers.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you should be a detail-oriented problem solver with a passion for high-quality code. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- Strong experience building production-grade web applications, specifically using Ruby on Rails.
- Proficiency in designing, analyzing, and optimizing SQL queries, preferably within a PostgreSQL environment.
- A solid understanding of backend architecture and the ability to contribute to our stack, which includes Redis, Sidekiq, Kubernetes, and StimulusJS.
- Excellent communication skills in English and a desire to mentor fellow engineers while participating in collaborative code reviews.
