Senior Software Engineer at Haloeurope

We are HALO Technologies, a rapidly growing company specializing in advanced body camera hardware and cloud-based software solutions. We partner with major organizations in law enforcement, security, and professional services to reduce risk and enhance safety through innovation. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in the United Kingdom. In this role, you will help evolve our Vault digital asset management system as we scale our enterprise architecture, expand our event-driven systems, and integrate new AI capabilities like facial and object recognition. We operate with a hybrid work model, requiring two days per week in our office.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain new features for our cloud services while troubleshooting existing applications to ensure peak performance.
• Take ownership of the software deployment and testing lifecycle to guarantee that all deliverables meet our high standards for quality and security.
• Collaborate closely with your team through regular code reviews and active participation in our Agile and DevOps workflows.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, you should have a strong background in software engineering and a passion for building scalable systems. We require the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or at least 5 years of hands-on Java experience.
• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and MySQL.
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Vue.js, and React.js.
• Practical knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platforms, along with experience in developing RESTful APIs and working with JSON.
• A solid understanding of data security, encryption, database management, and modern development tools like Git, Docker, and JIRA.
