Senior Software Engineer at Who Gives A Crap

What is this role?

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position where you will play a key role in scaling our digital operations. You will be responsible for ensuring our digital experience remains seamless and delightful for our customers while helping us grow our technical capabilities.

What will you do?

• Drive the development of high-quality, maintainable code while following industry best practices for testing and deployment.
• Lead and mentor fellow engineers, fostering a collaborative environment centered on knowledge sharing, constructive feedback, and clear communication.
• Contribute to our long-term technical strategy by balancing immediate project goals with broader organizational improvements and infrastructure needs.

What makes you a great fit?

You are a seasoned engineer who is passionate about the ecommerce space and stays current with the latest trends in frontend and backend development. You are comfortable working across the entire technology stack, including infrastructure, and you approach complex problems with an iterative mindset. You communicate effectively in English and possess the following qualities:

• Expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Proven experience in the ecommerce sector, ideally with Shopify or similar platforms.
• A strong background in mentoring, coaching, and pairing with other developers.
• The ability to navigate technical risks and prioritize tasks to align with business objectives.
• A hands-on approach to problem-solving and a desire to grow as a technical leader.
