Are you ready to shape the future of government technology from anywhere in the world? At Accela, we build cloud-based SaaS solutions that help communities run more efficiently and transparently, and we are looking for experienced engineers to join our growing remote team.
What you bring
We need a Senior Software Engineer who will work full time in a remote capacity. In this role you will serve as the senior engineer on a Scrum team, guiding the design and delivery of secure, scalable SaaS applications that run on Azure Cloud and AWS. You will bring at least five years of hands-on development experience with Java, Angular, and .NET, along with deep knowledge of unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and agile practices. Your day-to-day work will focus on three core areas: developing new features and refactoring existing code, defining requirements and leading analysis sessions for the Scrum team, and performing code reviews while writing unit tests and upholding software best practices. This position is open to candidates located Anywhere.
Requirements
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field and has spent at least five years building production software. You are fluent in English and comfortable explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues. You demonstrate strong analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and the ability to work independently while mentoring teammates. Experience coaching others, a solid grasp of secure-development principles, and familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure are essential. Certifications in Java, C#, or enterprise SaaS solutions are viewed as valuable additions but are not required.
