The role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position, though we anticipate a transition to a hybrid or fully on-site model in Manila in the future. You will be a key contributor to our backend systems, focusing on our NestJS projects while having the opportunity to engage with machine learning initiatives, such as our image recognition systems and the Wristcheck Price Index.
Core responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable backend systems that provide a fast and seamless experience for our users.
- Collaborate across teams by working closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Front-End Developers to integrate backend functionality into our broader platform.
- Lead the development of our core backend architecture and make strategic technical decisions that will define the future of our platform.
Skills and experience
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 4 years of professional experience in backend development using Node.js and TypeScript, specifically with Express or NestJS.
- Deep proficiency with relational databases like MySQL or Postgres and ORM frameworks such as TypeORM or Prisma.
- Strong familiarity with Git for version control.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience with OpenAPI is considered a helpful advantage.
