If you have a passion for education and want to help build a platform that reaches millions of students and teachers across 190 countries, we would love to meet you. At Edpuzzle, we have spent over a decade helping educators create interactive video lessons, and today our tools are used in more than 80% of schools throughout the United States. We are a global team with a strong presence in San Francisco and Barcelona, and we are currently looking for talented people to help us make learning more equitable and engaging.
What is this role?
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team in Spain. This is a full-time, remote position designed for an experienced developer who is ready to take on significant responsibility. You will work within a collaborative, cross-functional group of engineers to build scalable projects, deploy code twice daily, and ensure our platform remains a top-tier resource for the global education community.
What will you do?
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to design and implement high-quality software solutions that directly impact teachers and students.
- Take ownership of complex projects by proposing technical architectures and making decisions that prioritize the needs of our end users.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to our culture of continuous learning while working with technologies like React, Redux, Node, Express, and MongoDB.
What makes you a great fit?
To be successful in this role, you should have at least 6 years of experience in software development. We value candidates who are open-minded about technology and have a strong foundation in writing well-tested JavaScript code. You should be comfortable communicating in English, as you will be working within an international and multicultural environment. Key qualities we look for include:
- Proven experience with frontend frameworks and high-traffic backend systems.
- A strong grasp of software architecture, including DDD and hexagonal design patterns.
- The ability to lead projects autonomously and mentor colleagues.
- A deep interest in the edtech space and a user-centric approach to problem-solving.
- Current residency in Spain with the necessary work permits.
What's in it for you?
We offer a competitive salary range of 63,000 to 73,000 EUR, along with a yearly performance-based review. We are committed to supporting your professional and personal well-being through the following benefits:
- A remote-first work environment with the flexibility to use our Barcelona office whenever you choose.
- Flexible working hours and reduced hours on Fridays.
- Paid time off, including 24 holidays plus December 24th and 31st.
- Comprehensive private health insurance with AXA.
- An annual allowance of 2,000 EUR for meals.
- Support for professional development, including training resources and platforms.
- Flexible remuneration options for childcare and transportation.
