At Heard, we are transforming how mental health professionals manage their practices, and we are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team. This is a unique chance to help us scale our platform while shaping the future of our engineering organization.
What you bring
In this full-time, remote role, you will be a key player in developing our financial back-office systems. You will work extensively with our core technology stack, which includes Node, Express, AWS, Postgres, and TypeScript. We are looking for someone with at least four years of experience who is eager to take ownership of our infrastructure and mentor those around them. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development and maintenance of our core technology stack to ensure a robust and scalable system.
- Driving the architectural evolution of our platform to meet both current needs and future growth.
- Mentoring team members and refining our internal processes to foster a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented engineer who is comfortable navigating ambiguity and taking features from the initial idea phase all the way to production. You should have at least four years of professional experience, ideally with a strong grasp of TypeScript. We value candidates who think about the business impact of their technical decisions and enjoy discussing the trade-offs of different architectural implementations. You should be an excellent communicator who is comfortable giving and receiving feedback, and any previous experience in FinTech or handling sensitive financial information will be highly beneficial. We are looking for someone who writes clean, maintainable code and is passionate about sharing their knowledge with the wider team.

We believe in creating an environment that prioritizes your psychological safety and empowers you to take full ownership of your work. We offer a competitive package designed to support your professional and personal well-being, including the following benefits:
- Flexible hours and remote work arrangements.
- Comprehensive medical insurance.
- Paid time off.
- Dedicated wellness programs.

We look forward to hearing from you and learning more about how you can contribute to our mission.
