What is this role?

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position where you will help design, develop, and maintain the custom software suite that powers our national programs. You will work closely with our VP of Product Engineering to build the tools that support our students, from our admissions systems to our custom learning management platforms.

What will you do?

• Design and build robust web applications using Ruby on Rails and Django to improve our educational platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to define requirements, implement new features, and ensure our systems scale to support our growing student body.
• Maintain high standards for our codebase by writing clean, maintainable code, performing thorough code reviews, and implementing automated testing.

You are a skilled engineer who thrives in small, autonomous environments and is comfortable navigating ambiguity. To succeed in this role, you should bring the following:

• At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience, including a minimum of 3 years working with Ruby on Rails.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor or Copilot, as we expect an AI-native approach to your daily workflow.
• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and database design.
• Experience with responsive design frameworks, such as Bootstrap.
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for transforming computer science education.
