Role at a glance
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position available to candidates located anywhere in Canada, with the exception of Quebec. You will work closely with a team of seven engineers, reporting directly to our Director of Engineering to maintain and improve RateMds.com while refactoring legacy code and building new features.
Your impact
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including product managers and designers, to enhance user experience and drive business growth.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code while advocating for engineering best practices and contributing to our long-term technical roadmap.
- Mentor junior team members to help elevate their skills and participate in an eight-week rotating on-call schedule.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in full-stack development and a passion for building scalable web services. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in full-stack web development, specifically using Python and JavaScript.
- Proven expertise with Django or similar MVC frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with modern frontend libraries, particularly React.js.
- A solid understanding of SQL, relational database modeling, and software architecture.
- Professional proficiency in English.
