Senior Software Engineer at Groupthink

We are Groupthink, an early-stage startup dedicated to transforming how teams collaborate. We are building the next generation of meeting facilitation software, featuring tools like automatic live note-taking, intelligent group chat powered by LLMs, and advanced video conferencing integrations. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our small, scrappy team and help us build features that make meetings more productive for our users. This is a 100% remote position open to candidates based in the United States.

What you'll be doing

• You will take ownership of end-to-end feature development, ranging from frontend implementations and API design to building bot services and lambdas that power our core functionality.
• You will act as a technical leader by refining architecture, addressing technical debt, planning sprints, and making critical design decisions for new, 0-to-1 product features.
• You will collaborate daily with our CTO and engineering team, where you will review pull requests, unblock your peers, and contribute to our product roadmap.

What you'll bring

We are looking for a candidate who has at least 5 years of experience on product-focused engineering teams. You should be comfortable exercising independent judgment, moving quickly, and mentoring others. Your technical background should include the following:

• Extensive experience with PHP, Laravel, React, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in using Docker for local development environments.
• A strong track record of implementing and managing various 3rd-party RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with Python and AWS.
• The ability to travel 4 to 6 times per year to meet with the team in person.
• Fluency in English and a proven ability to thrive in a remote, asynchronous work environment.

Bonus points if you have experience with LLMs, vector databases, real-time audio and video processing, or if you have previously worked at a pre-product/market fit startup.
