At Seurat, we are redefining how the world makes metal parts. Our Area Printing technology, originally developed at Lawrence Livermore National Labs, enables high-resolution, high-speed additive manufacturing that matches conventional methods on cost and quality while cutting carbon emissions and bringing production closer to home. Backed by more than $180 million and investors including NVIDIA, General Motors, Porsche, Honda, and Siemens Energy, we are scaling a vertically integrated platform that designs, builds, and operates the machines that will power the next era of manufacturing.
About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Technology Development team on a full-time, on-site basis. In this position you will create the software that drives data collection, image processing, networking, and laboratory equipment control for our next-generation Area Printer. You will also contribute to motion systems and vision pipelines that turn experimental hardware into reliable production tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build desktop applications in C# using WPF and the MVVM pattern to support technology demonstrations and daily lab operations.
- Develop and maintain systems for high-speed data acquisition, image capture and synchronization, batch image analysis, and light-valve waveform control.
- Produce clear technical documentation, follow formal software development and configuration-management processes, and collaborate across engineering teams to improve equipment performance and user experience.
Requirements
- Several years of professional software development experience with demonstrated success moving complex systems from R&D prototypes into production environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and solid working knowledge of C#; additional experience with C, C++, Java, or LabVIEW is valued.
- Hands-on experience with data-acquisition hardware, industrial communication protocols (RS-232, RS-485, EtherCAT, Ethernet, SCPI), and machine-vision or high-speed imaging pipelines.
- Practical experience building responsive WPF interfaces, implementing data binding, and creating custom controls.
- Strong analytical thinking, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative lab setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Location
This position is based at our headquarters in Wilmington, Massachusetts, and requires daily on-site presence to support laboratory development activities.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive compensation package along with comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, flexible time-off policies, and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge additive-manufacturing technology in a fast-growing, well-funded organization.
