Senior Software Engineer at Genpop Interactive

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us build an original competitive team shooter. At Genpop Interactive, we are dedicated to crafting deep, evergreen games that keep players engaged for thousands of hours, and we want you to help us push the boundaries of what is possible in the gaming industry.

Responsibilities

• Identify complex challenges and implement effective solutions for our online services.
• Take full ownership of your work, from initial feature development to ongoing maintenance and iteration.
• Develop comprehensive features that span from backend online service integration all the way to in-game UI.
• Maintain our live services and build the necessary tools to support them.
• Contribute to the scaling and improvement of our live service infrastructure.

Must-haves

• At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, specifically in implementing complex systems and features.
• Strong proficiency with C++ within the Unreal Engine environment.
• Practical experience with backend-as-a-service platforms like PlayFab, AccelByte, or Pragma.
• A solid understanding of software development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and design patterns.
• Proven experience working on a shipped live service title.
• The ability to optimize code for better CPU, memory, and network performance.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across various disciplines.
• Fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Background in developing scalable, multiplayer games.
• A genuine interest in the eSports landscape.
• Experience working with console platforms.
• Familiarity with UMG.
• Experience using Perforce and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of Online Subsystems within Unreal Engine.
