At Stora, we are on a mission to completely transform the self-storage industry through innovative technology. Our platform empowers operators to streamline their daily business activities, automate manual processes, and discover new revenue streams. Over the past five years, we have grown into a product-led team that has helped more than 450 operators process tens of millions in payments, and we are dedicated to making self-storage more efficient and accessible for everyone.
The role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position for someone who wants to take ownership of complex projects from the initial concept through to final deployment. You will be a key member of our engineering group, helping to define our technical direction and mentoring others as we continue to scale our impact.
Core responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex features, ensuring they are delivered from concept to production effectively.
- Make high-level architectural decisions that keep our Rails application performant, scalable, and easy to maintain.
- Mentor and support fellow engineers through regular code reviews, pair programming, and active knowledge sharing.
Skills and experience
We are looking for someone with a proven background in building and scaling production-grade Rails applications. You should have a deep understanding of Rails fundamentals and the ability to balance rapid delivery with long-term system sustainability. Our ideal candidate is comfortable working across the stack, including JavaScript and CSS, and possesses a strong testing mindset using tools like Minitest. You should be a clear communicator who can articulate technical trade-offs and guide others through complex production challenges.
Compensation and benefits
The salary for this position is 100000 USD. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive package designed to support your well-being and professional growth:
- Full remote work flexibility.
- Medical insurance coverage.
- Generous paid time off.
- Dedicated budget for professional development.
- Stock options to share in our success.
- A home office budget to ensure your workspace is comfortable.
- Regular company retreats to connect with the team.
How to apply
If you are ready to help us reshape the self-storage landscape, we would love to hear from you. We review applications as they arrive and will reach out promptly if your background aligns with our current needs.
