Senior Software Engineer at Karat

What you'll be doing

• You will lead and mentor junior engineers, sharing your technical knowledge and professional experience to help the team grow.
• You will take ownership of complex projects from the initial design phase through to final release, ensuring high-quality delivery while communicating effectively with stakeholders.
• You will build and maintain robust web applications, backend services, and APIs while collaborating with data scientists, designers, and product managers to create seamless user experiences.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in software development and a collaborative mindset. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• At least 6 years of professional experience in developing and launching web applications or systems into production environments.
• Proven experience in designing and building backend services, APIs, or frontend components.
• Proficiency in Ruby or a similar programming language.
• Comfort working within a Linux or Unix-based workflow.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks like React, as well as JavaScript or TypeScript, is considered a significant plus.
• Excellent communication skills in English, as you will be working closely with a service-oriented team.
