We are BuildZoom, a managed marketplace dedicated to modernizing the massive construction and remodeling industry. By providing transparency and accountability, we help clients navigate complex projects, and in 2024 alone, we managed $12 billion in construction work. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our remote team and help us build the data-driven tools that define the future of this field.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a wide range of technical areas including front and back-end web development, mobile, infrastructure, and product strategy.
- Utilize our advanced data ingestion framework to build powerful analytics and recommendation engines.
- Design sophisticated user workflows that support project owners, contractors, and construction engineers.
- Collaborate closely with our small, fast-growing engineering team to solve complex problems.
- Apply a quantitative approach to help drive our business decisions.
Must-haves
- At least 3 years of professional, team-based software engineering experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills paired with high emotional intelligence.
- A generalist mindset with a genuine interest in web development and DevOps.
- The legal right to live and work in Aotearoa New Zealand, as this is a New Zealand based role.
- A drive to democratize access to stress-free construction and a tenacious attitude toward overcoming obstacles.
