We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a fast-growing edtech client that is revolutionizing how schools and families communicate to support student success.

Responsibilities

Partner with product owners to design, build, and launch new features for educators.
Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance system security, scalability, and maintainability.
Work across the entire stack, including the web interface, service layer, databases, and message queues.
Manage production systems at scale by reviewing code, debugging technical issues, and optimizing overall performance.
Lead key projects that improve the platform experience for schools and families.
Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture.

Must-haves

At least 4 years of professional experience in software development.
Strong hands-on proficiency with Ruby on Rails.
Proven experience working with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
Experience operating and deploying systems at scale using AWS services such as RDS and SQS.
Solid background in developing RESTful APIs.
A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
A willingness to use AI-powered tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor to boost development speed.
Fluency in English.
Residency in Latin America.
