Aurora Labs serves as the primary development force behind Aurora, an EVM blockchain operating on the NEAR Protocol. We also build and support Aurora Cloud, which is a comprehensive suite of tools designed to help traditional Web2 organizations integrate and leverage the benefits of Web3 technology. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our fully distributed team in a full-time, remote capacity.
Key outcomes
- Take responsibility for maintaining and enhancing our business-critical services developed in Rust.
- Conduct research and build prototypes to explore the application of emerging blockchain technologies.
- Evaluate and offer constructive feedback on technical architecture decisions throughout the organization.
- Engage in the technical governance of open-source projects related to the NEAR ecosystem.
- Collaborate effectively with our remote team members and maintain an active presence in Ethereum engineering forums.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Rust programming.
- Strong background in software design, system architecture, and general engineering principles.
- Practical experience working with message-based and event-sourced architectures.
- A demonstrated history of successful smart contract development.
- Prior professional experience within the blockchain industry, specifically with Layer 1 protocols.
- An extreme ownership mindset, meaning you take full accountability for your projects and tasks.
- A commitment to professional excellence and high-quality code.
- A genuine interest in maintaining and improving existing codebases.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Direct experience working with the NEAR ecosystem, such as the nearcore codebase.
- A background in developing or auditing security-sensitive code.
- Familiarity with the broader EVM and Web3 ecosystem.
