Senior Software Engineer at Sunrise

What you bring

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical foundation. This is a full-time, hybrid position that can be performed from anywhere. You will be responsible for building the entire suite of technical solutions that our patients and medical partners rely on every day. Your core responsibilities will include the following:

• Designing and rapidly iterating on our core web application stack using NestJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Partnering directly with our product, marketing, and operations teams to ensure our technical solutions solve real-world problems while remaining scalable for the future.
• Collaborating with your teammates to build, maintain, and evolve our software across the entire stack while balancing speed with high-quality user experiences.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who thinks like an owner and operates from a first-principles perspective. You should have at least five years of full-stack experience building modern web applications, with a specific background in Node.js environments. A strong foundation in software engineering is essential, whether that comes from a formal degree or a proven track record of delivering reliable systems. Because we function as a remote team, you must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to excel in our asynchronous environment. We value candidates who can make clear decisions even when faced with ambiguity. While not required, experience in fast-paced startups, cloud infrastructure, or the healthcare industry is considered a significant plus.
