Senior Software Engineer at Valimail

Valimail is a rapidly expanding, venture-backed startup that serves as the global authority in Email Authentication as a Service. We have pioneered a revolutionary platform built on open standards like DMARC, DKIM, and SPF, which empowers organizations to defend themselves against email impersonation. Our cloud-native solutions are trusted by a wide range of clients, from local businesses to major global entities such as Uber, Splunk, and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our remote-first team and contribute to our Enforce, Align, and Monitor products. Key outcomes

• Collaborate within a high-performance software environment to build, maintain, and scale our industry-leading SaaS DMARC platform.
• Develop robust, testable, and maintainable code using Ruby on Rails and Golang.
• Take full ownership of features and bug fixes while working closely with cross-functional product and engineering teams.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement measurable solutions to improve our development processes.
• Drive the adoption of best practices regarding code health, scalability, and testability through pair programming and code reviews.
• Provide technical guidance throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial design to final delivery.
• Help define and select the developer tools used across our engineering organization.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience building production-grade web applications.
• Significant, hands-on experience working with both Ruby on Rails and Go.
• Strong proficiency in writing, analyzing, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases.
• Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• A demonstrated commitment to technical excellence and a strong desire to learn new languages and technologies.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an agile, cross-functional setting.

Preferred qualifications

• Practical experience with Hotwire, React, Redis, RSpec, and Sidekiq.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment tools such as AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $160,000 - 190,000. In addition to competitive pay, we offer the following benefits:
