Senior Software Engineer at Sunrise

At Sunrise, our mission is to make high-quality healthcare accessible to everyone. We are currently focused on chronic conditions that affect a large portion of the population, providing a comprehensive service that helps patients manage their holistic care. This includes everything from consulting with multi-specialty providers and managing medications to connecting with a supportive community of peers. Although we are currently operating in stealth mode, we have experienced rapid growth, reaching significant annual recurring revenue within just six months of our launch and securing 42 million dollars in seed funding.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in a full-time capacity. As a founding member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in building and scaling our platform to serve millions of customers. You will have the opportunity to influence our technical direction and product delivery from the ground up while working in a hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and rapidly iterate on our core product and web application stack using NestJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Collaborate directly with our Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure our technical solutions meet current business needs while remaining scalable for the future.
• Maintain, debug, and evolve our software across the entire technology stack while balancing the need for speed with a commitment to high-quality user experiences.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of full-stack experience in building modern web applications.
• Proven experience developing Node.js applications, ideally in startup environments or at scale.
• A solid foundation in software engineering, demonstrated through a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a strong track record of delivering reliable software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as we rely heavily on asynchronous collaboration.
• The ability to make decisive choices even when facing ambiguity.

While not required, we also value experience in fast-paced startup environments, building customer-facing business applications, and working with cloud infrastructure like AWS, GCP, or Azure. Backgrounds in the healthcare industry are a plus but are not necessary.
