The role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Technical Operations team on a full-time basis. This is a senior-level position based in our Chicago office, where you will work in a hybrid capacity. You will play a vital role in our infrastructure, collaborating with development and trade support teams to design, automate, and manage the systems that power our global trading operations.
Core responsibilities
- Design and develop robust applications to support real-time trading operations, focusing on automation and monitoring to streamline the entire lifecycle of our mission-critical systems.
- Improve existing pipelines and configuration management processes to increase efficiency, while establishing best practices and maintaining clear documentation.
- Collaborate closely with core development and trading teams to deliver new features and firm-wide solutions that allow our infrastructure to scale effectively.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in software development or DevOps, along with a proactive approach to automation.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in software development or DevOps.
- Proficiency in C# for automation and integration, with Python skills being a valuable asset.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and experience managing databases.
- Expertise in Linux system configuration, troubleshooting, and kernel-level understanding.
- Hands-on experience with Git, artifact management, and building CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with modern infrastructure tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
