Senior Software Engineer at Health Note

We’re Health Note, and our mission is to improve the healthcare experience for both patients and providers. We automate the busywork that pulls clinicians away from their patients, starting with clinical notes. Our intake solution gathers information before appointments and writes it straight into the EMR, while our ambient scribe captures and summarizes visits in real time. So far we’ve written millions of notes, freeing clinicians to focus on care instead of paperwork. Today we’re a fully distributed, remote-first startup serving more than sixty clinics and health systems, and we’re growing fast.

What is this role?

This is a full-time Senior Software Engineer position. You’ll join a high-growth product team that is building AI-powered tools to reduce provider workload. The role is fully remote within the United States, and you’ll report directly to the Head of Engineering.

What will you do?

• Design, build, and maintain scalable services and applications, including those that use machine-learning models to analyze patient data and generate clinical notes.
• Continuously improve code quality and reliability by refactoring, writing tests, automating deployments, and raising overall engineering standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, solution engineers, and fellow developers to integrate AI-driven features into our products and support our expanding customer base.

What makes you a great fit?

You bring at least five years of experience building and operating robust, full-stack applications at scale. You are fluent in TypeScript, React, NestJS, and PostgreSQL, and you write clean, well-tested code that leaves systems better than you found them. You have worked with modern web technologies such as GraphQL, HTTP/2, WebSockets, and gRPC, and you enjoy tackling ambiguous problems that have real impact. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, because our engineering team spans multiple time zones and relies on clear, asynchronous collaboration. Experience with healthcare technology or regulated industries is a plus, as is familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration, or AI/ML frameworks.

What's in it for you?

The base salary range for this role is $135,000 to $175,000.
