Beam is on a mission to shift $10 billion from brands to high-impact nonprofits by reimagining loyalty for modern consumers. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our SDK team and help build the core technology that powers our impactful shopping experiences across a network of over 250 mission-driven brands.
Responsibilities
- Design and plan new technical solutions by collaborating with product managers and engineers through RFC and tech spec documentation.
- Execute and implement high-quality software while maintaining ownership of your projects from the initial specification to final delivery.
- Act as a force multiplier for the team by engaging in pair programming, code reviews, and mentorship.
- Develop deep subject matter expertise in our SDK and platform technologies.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, accountability, and support while gaining a strong understanding of the e-commerce and nonprofit giving sectors.
Must-haves
- At least 4 years of experience building full stack production systems for complex web applications.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and modern frameworks like React.
- Solid understanding of CSS, web architecture, and API design.
- Familiarity with essential engineering processes, including observability, performance optimization, continuous integration, automated testing, and cloud infrastructure.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to advocate for technical projects to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience working in an early-stage startup environment.
- Background in e-commerce enablement or SDK development.
- Experience with A/B testing solutions, particularly Statsig.
