Senior Software Engineer Python at Superlinear

What you'll be doing

• Architecting our core platform infrastructure by designing clean, modular abstractions and robust systems that serve as the foundation for all our future features.
• Writing high-quality, modern, and type-annotated Python code that sets the technical standard for our entire engineering team.
• Building secure, performant, and well-documented RESTful APIs that integrate reliably with the complex environments of our enterprise clients.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you should possess a deep understanding of modern Python and a passion for building systems that are both simple and scalable. We are looking for someone who brings the following expertise:

• Expert-level proficiency in Python 3.12+, including mastery of type annotations, async/await, and modern tooling like ruff or uv.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design, alongside FastAPI for building intuitive APIs.
• A solid background in engineering best practices, including Git workflows, pytest for comprehensive testing, and a focus on observability and security.
• The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, as you will be expected to contribute to our technical writing and documentation.
• Fluency in English, which is essential for our collaborative environment.
• A mindset that prioritizes simplicity, minimal dependencies, and long-term maintainability over over-engineered solutions.
