Senior Software Engineer, ML Workflows at Weights & Biases

At Weights & Biases, we are dedicated to creating the premier developer tools for the machine learning community. As a series C company backed by $250 million in funding, we support a massive user base that includes research institutions like UC Berkeley and FAIR, alongside industry leaders such as OpenAI, NVIDIA, and Toyota Research Institute. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Machine Learning Workflows team and help us build an end-to-end platform for the future of ML workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products that transform how ML engineers manage their datasets and models.
• Scale our APIs and infrastructure to handle enterprise-level machine learning demands.
• Create automation tools that assist engineers with hyperparameter optimization and inference job management.
• Prioritize the user experience by actively incorporating customer feedback into our product roadmap.
• Stay current with emerging trends in the machine learning space and integrate existing frameworks to solve complex problems.

Must-haves

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with proficiency in at least one modern language, such as Python, TypeScript, or Go.
• Proven experience building data or machine learning systems using tools like Kubeflow, MLFlow, or similar technologies.
• A solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and familiarity with frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or HuggingFace.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and associated infrastructure.
• The ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable milestones and features.
